THE OPPORTUNITY
Market Opportunity: Memex targets tech-savvy professionals like product managers, solutions engineers, small business owners, researchers, data scientists, and others who understand technical concepts but lack formal coding training. According to Gartner, these semi-technical professionals outnumber professional developers by 4:1 in 2025, representing a massive untapped market.
Expanding Developer Pool: AI is dramatically expanding who can create software. While there are roughly 27-29 million professional software developers worldwide today, the semi-technical cohort could easily reach 150-200 million globally by 2030. Memex is positioned to capture this growing segment of builders.
Hot Market: The Everything Builder space is experiencing explosive growth. Peer companies like Cursor.com recently set the record for fastest growth to $100M ARR in history, while companies like Lovable and Bolt are seeing similar wildfire adoption. Conservatively, the global generative AI in software development market will reach $2.83 billion by 2030, growing at 35%+ CAGR.
Unique Approach: Unlike coding assistants that require programming knowledge or no-code platforms with limited flexibility, Memex functions as an autonomous collaborator that can drive the entire development process based on natural language instructions, handling everything from code generation to execution and debugging.

WHY WE BUILT MEMEX
Hear directly from our team about the vision and purpose behind Memex:
Our founding team explains the inspiration behind Memex and how it's transforming software development for tech-savvy professionals worldwide.
MARKET SIZING
The opportunity for tech-savvy professionals is massive and growing:
- By 2030, the number of people writing code could exceed 100-150 million globally
- 30% of custom enterprise applications are now built by employees with limited or no formal coding skills
- 75% of large enterprises will have formal citizen development programs by mid-decade
- The serviceable market for semi-technical AI development tools is projected to reach tens of billions of dollars by 2030
As AI lowers barriers to entry, Memex is positioned at the forefront of what CEO David Gilmore calls "the Jevons Paradox of software development" – where making development more efficient doesn't reduce demand for developers but instead dramatically increases demand due to falling costs of building software.
